 While still closed, The Karol Hotel’s kitchen is activated, producing 5,000 prepared meals each week for Feeding Tampa Bay.  Thank you to Fred & Karol Bullard for wanting to help those in need.

ATTN: Financial Relief for Individuals & Families!

- The City of Tampa has established the Relief Now, Rise Together Fund to provide financial relief to eligible families and individuals negatively impacted by local COVID-19 orders. The relief program is an emergency grant focused on the most basic needs - rent and essential utilities.

For eligible applicants, the program will provide direct payments for up to one month’s rent or mortgage plus one or more essential utility costs (water, gas, electric). 

The City will remit payment, up to the amounts indicated below, directly to landlords, mortgagors, or to TECO on behalf of qualified relief recipients.

  • Individuals/Families: Up      to $1,000 for rent or mortgage; up to $250 for utilities.

-Are there other entities offering financial assistance or resources to those financially impacted by COVID-19?

  • The      United Way has resources that are available to those who are financially      impacted by COVID-19. You can dial 2-1-1 to speak to someone at the United      Way who can help direct you to the specific resources that are available      in our area.
  • If      you are a restaurant employee, the National Restaurant Association has      established the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund to help industry employees      experiencing hardship during the COVID-19 outbreak. You can apply for      assistance online at: https://rerf.us/. 
  • The      USBG National Charity Foundation has established the Bartender Emergency      Assistance Program: https://www.usbgfoundation.org/beap. 
  • The      Golden Rule Charity has established a grant program to assist those in the      hospitality industry: https://www.goldenrulecharity.org/.

-  HOTEL INDUSTRY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES FREE TRAINING, EDUCATION COURSES FOR HOTEL EMPLOYEES

  • United Way COVID-19      Community Economic Relief Fund can help you find assistance for bills, rent and food.      Call 866-211-9966 for the list of local agencies that can help you or search 211 here.
     
  • Employment Assistance – Express Employment      Professionals is available to help individuals find jobs and also to help      businesses find new team members. You can reach them at 239-498-5000, or      email Leslie.Hohmann@ExpressPros.com
     
  • Bartender Emergency      Assistance Program – The United States Bartenders Guild’s National Charity      Foundation has launched a program for bartenders in need of assistance      during the coronavirus outbreak, meant to aid service industry personnel      experiencing financial difficulties as a direct result of the outbreak.      Eligible applicants can receive a grant to help cover bills here.                     


- Mainsail’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all medically insured Team Members. The EAP program is through United HealthCare, called Care24, and is a wonderful resource for your health and mental well-being questions, particularly during these stressful times and is available 24 hours 7 days a week at 1-800-828-1120.  (Not the Karol Hotel) 


- If an employee not enrolled in mainsail medical insurance and need support due to the Coronavirus can contact Aetna at their Crisis Response Line1-833-327-AETNA (1-833-327-2386). They have opened their services to the community at no charge to assist with stressors related to this virus. The caller will speak with a counselor over the phone .


 

Financial Resources:

 

  • Another Round Another Rally: Offering $500 relief grants for hospitality works who lost their      jobs or had hours greatly reduced.
  • Children of Restaurant Employees      (CORE): Dedicated to serving food and      beverage service employees with children who have been diagnosed with      COVID-19 or who are experiencing hardship due to closings or loss of      business.
  • Bartender Emergency Assistance Program: grants for individuals employed in serving beverages or engaged      in the production, promotion or distribution of alcoholic beverages.


Temporary/Seasonal Jobs

   

- Publix and Walmart plan to hire thousands in next few weeks to meet demand fueled by coronavirus


- Alorica, a California-based customer service company that laid off 500 employees in Tampa last December, is now looking to hire thousands, including Floridians, for its new work from home program. The program, called Alorica-At-Home, is looking to help workers who were laid off because of the coronavirus pandemic.


· Albertsons Companies The national grocery company is hiring for positions across its brands. 

· ALDI Hiring Seasonal cashiers. 

· Kroger (Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer and more): Immediate openings are available at many of the brands under this national grocery store company. 

· Publix– immediate opening, go to your local store  

· Safeway Grocery Stores Apply online or at your local store. 

· Sam’s Club – immediate openings  

· Southeastern Grocers (Bi-Lo, Fresco, Harvey’s, Winn-Dixie) Apply online or at your local store 

· Walmart Walmart is hiring store workers and delivery drivers. 

· Amazon  100,000 workers needed to help with online orders. 

· Dominos 10,000 workers for full and part-time positions. 

· Pizza Hut The pizza chain is hiring for positions at its various locations 

· DoorDash, GrubHub, Postmates, Uber Eats Sign Up to deliver food through third party delivery services.
